Ordering Single Lens Glasses

When you find a pair of frames that you love, select the "Prescription Lens" option on the product page. Then click the "Glasses Lenses" button.

During the customization process, you can select what type of lenses you want. One of these options is a single vision. You can also choose readers which are a type of single-vision lens intended for help reading.

Once you have selected your lens type, you will see a series of options pop up. Once you have finished customizing your lenses, you can enter or upload your prescription information. We will then ship your frames with the corrective lenses to you.

Customization Options

If you choose single vision glasses, you will have a variety of customization options. For example, you can choose whether you want a premium digital HD lens. This uses cutting-edge digital technology to provide a clearer image.

You can also choose whether you would like tinted, clear or light-adjusting lenses. If you need them, you can order your frames as sunglasses.

We also offer a choice of lens thickness and material. You could choose ultra-thin lenses or impact-resistant polycarbonate. You can also select whether you want protections such as anti-fog, scratch resistance, UV protection and more.

Single Vision Glasses FAQs

What Is the Difference Between Single Vision and Progressive Glasses?

Single vision eyeglasses are the most common type of lenses. They have one prescription power throughout the entire lens. Conversely, progressive glasses have multiple prescription power zones on the lens. Those zones blend together gently so there aren't obvious lines between them unlike on bifocal or multi-focal lenses.

What Does Single Vision Distance Mean?

Single vision glasses can either correct distant or near vision. Glasses that help with the former are often called reading glasses. Single vision distance means that the corrective lenses help with seeing things more than 30 feet away. They are for general use including sports, driving, working and other common activities.

Is Astigmatism Considered Single Vision?

Yes, astigmatism can be helped by single vision lenses. If glasses are single-vision, that means that the entirety of each lens has the same prescription power instead of different zones with different powers. If you have astigmatism, you can use single-vision prescription glasses or progressives if you need help reading.

What Are Single Vision Prescription Glasses?

When a pair of prescription glasses is described as single vision, that means that the lenses have the same prescription power throughout. This is the most basic and common form of corrective lenses. Bifocals, multi-focal lenses and progressive lenses, conversely, have different prescription powers in the zones of the lenses.

What's the Difference Between Single Vision Glasses and Reading Glasses?

Technically, reading glasses can be a type of single vision eyeglasses. However, most people are referring to distance glasses when they say single vision. The difference between these two is that reading glasses are for seeing something close to your face such as a book and distance glasses are for seeing things further away.
